There are millions of words written about what a Budding Entrepreneur ought to be. A thousand business experts have committed their entire careers to trying to define those special qualities that seem to allow the chosen few to make their millions. We probably all know someone who has been ‘successful’ – a self made business person with all of the trappings of commercial achievement. Entrepreneurs are apparently all risk taking gamblers prepared to work 24/7 doing whatever is necessary in search of their own version of Eldorado. But is that really our requirement do you imagine? Is that really how you see yourself? Is that genuinely the profile of a typical SSG client? Success means different things to different people of course. Our clients are not all commercial Dragons (‘Den’ style) intent on building the biggest or best recruitment organisation known to mankind. The SSG business model is designed to offer equal opportunity to those wishing to compete with the recruitment ‘big boys’ or those who hope to enjoy the life style benefits of being their own boss. Whether you feel trapped by your present circumstances in terms of money, autonomy or family time (responsibilities), owning your SSG supported recruitment business may offer you an escape. Before you look at the additional demographic information provided within this section of our presentation (i.e. typical recruiter profiles, markets and sectors), it might be of interest to you to know what our preferred criteria is? What do we look for in a recruiter? Five years of meeting numerous excellent recruiters, launching hundreds of successful businesses and having our fingers singed (if not actually burnt) a few times has helped to distil our thoughts into three simple requirements:
Doesn’t sound too complicated does it? But the truth is that it is very hard for us to meet potential clients where all three criteria are satisfied. Inevitably, we have turned down many fine recruiters who we did not feel really wanted their own business more than they disliked working for others & we believe that it is absolutely the case that we have been rejected by many not because of our service range, but simply because applicants didn’t feel ‘comfortable’ with us.
